THALOS partners with HOJO Solutions to digitalize healthcare onboard ships

In the maritime industry, where every minute can be critical, THALOS takes a major step forward by partnering with HOJO Solutions to integrate connected healthcare technology directly onboard vessels. Through this partnership, the HOJO solution is now fully interfaced with OceanBox, THALOS’s advanced maritime connectivity platform.

Real-time medical response, even offshore

The HOJO solution enables crew members to quickly measure the vital signs of any person in distress — including temperature, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, and blood pressure — without requiring prior medical training. These vitals are then transmitted in real time to the Toulouse Maritime Emergency Medical Service (SAMU maritime), allowing for immediate diagnosis and remote medical guidance.

All health data is securely transmitted via OceanBox, ensuring uninterrupted communication even in the most remote areas, where connectivity is often unstable. In case of an emergency, this setup enables medical teams to determine within minutes whether evacuation is necessary or if treatment can be administered on board — thus avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations or repatriations.

A technological alliance serving safety and performance

This integration represents more than just a technical innovation. It is part of a strategic initiative to:

  • Ensure the health and safety of seafarers, through continuous monitoring of their physical condition.

  • Reduce operational and logistical costs, by avoiding unnecessary medical evacuations thanks to accurate diagnostics.

  • Enhance fleet resilience, by keeping crew members operational and safe for longer periods.

The connection between HOJO and OceanBox reflects a shared commitment to delivering practical, impactful solutions to the unique challenges of maritime life. Through this collaboration, THALOS and HOJO reaffirm their dedication to a safer, more connected, and more human-centric ocean.
