With CATSAT 7.0, we introduce a significant evolution of our fisheries management software. While this version is primarily designed for longline fisheries, it also provides clear benefits for other fishing activities. Indeed, the integration of new oceanographic products and functional enhancements improves decision-making at sea.
A Dedicated Longline Manager
First, CATSAT 7.0 integrates a comprehensive Longline Manager. This tool allows crews to configure longlines precisely and efficiently. In addition, it helps forecast deployment conditions using environmental data. Operators can also visualize longline drift and manage setting operations more effectively. As a result, fishing operations become more controlled and optimized.
CATSAT Mate: Mobile Catch Reporting
Moreover, CATSAT 7.0 introduces CATSAT Mate, a new mobile catch reporting solution. Available on tablet and smartphone, it simplifies onboard data entry. Therefore, crews benefit from a more intuitive and flexible working environment. This mobility improves data accuracy and operational responsiveness.
Enhanced Oceanographic Data for Better Fishing Decisions
Furthermore, new oceanographic products are now available within the platform. These products can be displayed with a front detection layer. Consequently, crews can identify potentially favorable fishing zones more easily.
The FSLE product can now be overlaid with other datasets. This combined visualization strengthens ocean analysis and supports strategic planning.
